Problem

Irukkaa connects blue-collar workers, employers, and resource owners, but the existing app suffers from unclear user flows, weak job/resource discovery, and low trust. Mixed roles in a single navigation create confusion, and less tech-savvy users struggle to complete tasks. Limited guidance, poor visibility of matches, and minimal status updates lead to drop-offs and low engagement.

Solution

The redesign introduces clear, role-based flows for job seekers, employers, and resource owners, making primary actions simple: Find Work, Post a Job, or List a Resource. Improved filters, location-based matching, and clean card layouts enhance discoverability. Trust is strengthened through verified profiles, transparent job details, and easy communication. Local-language onboarding, simplified UI, and real-time alerts make the app more accessible, engaging, and reliable for all user types.

Stage 1. Usability Audit

The project began with a thorough usability audit of the existing Irukkaa app, using heuristic evaluation, user research, and performance analytics to identify key pain points. This audit highlighted challenges in navigation, event discovery, and user engagement, indicating the need for an optimized experience that enhances social interactions and accessibility.

Stage 2. Design Strategy

A strategic redesign plan was developed to address usability issues and improve engagement. The key objectives included:
